Creative Core

Creative Core VŠTP (Kreativno jedro VŠTP) was a project approved within the »Operational Programme for Strengthening Regional Development potentials for period 2007-2013.« Within the project Kreativno jedro VŠTP, fundamental and applied research in the area of polymer materials, with an emphasis on biopolymer materials and associated technologies, was conducted.The main purpose of the project was to obtain a critical mass of knowledge in the area of biopolymers based on both, own research as well as on collaboration with foreign institutions; to implement the knowledge into the pedagogical process; and in the final phase transfer it to industry. For this reason cooperation with foreign research organizations and companies as potential final users was established during the project. The research work was conducted within five sets or five RDPs, which were vertically connected to research activities. Horizontal connection between the research sets was conducted through networking, educating and transferring knowledge into the pedagogical process and industry. The first set (RDP1) of activities included the preparation of polymer materials with improved characteristics, particularly polymer blends and composites. The second set (RDP2) included the activities related to processing of those materials. The third set (RDP3) addressed the problems of recycling the existing and new polymer materials. The fourth set (RDP4) focused on the life-cycle analysis and the environmental impact. The fifth set (RDP5) was oriented toward the area of marketing and preparation of commercialization model.
