Welcome

FTPO conferences aim to bring together theorists, experimentalists and industrialists in the field of polymer research as well as applications. This year's conference will be held from 9th to 10th June 2022 at the Faculty of Polymer Technology (FTPO) in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia and online, on the topic Polymer composites. We hope to provide a venue for discussions between scientists and engineers from academia and industry, bridging fundamental and applied aspects of polymer composites.

There is something new this year. We decided to invite as speakers two young doctors (finished PhD in 2020 or 2021) with outstanding achievements. The candidates should register and send a CV and motivation letter, explaining why they believe their achievements are great.

COVID-19 NOTICES:
Due to the unfortunate Covid-19 situation, the conference will be organised as a hybrid conference (online and onsite). We suggest checking the status of your country and Slovenia frequently, to avoid unnecessary travelling complications. The condition for entering Slovenia and attending the conference is RVT requirement (recovered-vaccinated-tested). Organizers have the right to check the RVT requirement. The facial masks might also be mandatory.

Topics

Conference topics include, but are not limited to:
  • Manufacturing
  • Testing
  • Recycling
  • Design and modelling
  • Applications

Venue

Conference Polymer Composites will be held at the Faculty of Polymer Technology in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia.

How to get there?

By car:
The easiest way is by car. Slovenj Gradec is located in a beautiful valley in north-east of Slovenia, 120 km from the capital city, Ljubljana. At the highway, Ljubljana-Maribor, take the exit ŽALEC and continue in a direction Velenje, Slovenj Gradec. Drive carefully, also because there is a stationary radar in the centre of Velenje, and police are measuring speed regularly in several places (Paka pri Velenju, Šmartno pri Slovenj Gradcu,…).

By plane:
The transport from the Ljubljana airport (Airport Jože Pučnik) can be booked by GoOpti. The other airports in the vicinity are Zagreb (Croatia) and Graz (Austria) but it might be a bit inconvenient to come to Slovenj Gradec. However, GoOpti is offering transport from those airports as well. If several of you come at approximately the same time we might help to organise transport.

By train
The nearest train station is Velenje. If you get there we will organise the transport to Slovenj Gradec, just let us know in advance.
