FT-IR spectrophotometer is an apparatus by which a variety of molecular oscillations can produce a spectrum from which we can determine which bonds and functional groups are present in a particular sample.

FT-IR spectroscopy is a spectroscopic method that enables (qualitative and quantitative) identification of the chemical structure (the presence or absence of chemical bonds in the chemical structure) and thus identification of the present substances. FT-IR spectroscopy is used to identify various organic as well as inorganic materials.

Thermogravimetry (TG) or thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) is one of the basic methods in thermal analysis. In this technique we measure the mass of a substance depending on the temperature or time at controlled temperature change and in a controlled atmosphere. FTIR-TGA analysis is a method that connects both techniques and allows us to detect samples generated during the thermogravimetric analysis using FTIR spectroscopy.
