Pellet Line (PT50)
Compounding materials with low bulk density (e.g. fibers, films, fabrics, etc.) presents a particular challenge, since such materials can not be successfully dosed with standard equipment. For the successful processing of materials with low bulk density, it is necessary to use special dosing equipment (adapted for low bulk density) or to increase the bulk density of the material that is being processed. Pelleting is a process of pressing the material into the shape of a pellet. In the pelleting process, the material is compressed into a pellet form which consequently increases the bulk density. The resulting pellets can then be processed with standard polymer processing equipment.
